STEVE WORRALL believes he is “capable” of upsetting the odds in the British Grand Prix.

The fast-starting ace returns to Sports Insure Premiership action for Wolves at Leicester, live on BSN.

It comes just four days after his excellent performance in the British Final to grab the runner-up spot and a place at Cardiff.

He said: “It is every British rider’s dream. The idea is to win the British title and go to Cardiff.

“Not many people get the opportunity to be part of the Grand Prix series and racing in front of a big crowd in Cardiff.

“It’s a bit of daunting feeling I guess. But I know what I’m capable of. I’ll go there and enjoy myself and what will be will be.

“The last time I was runner-up I went to Cardiff as reserve so it’s nice to get a reward this time.

“I feel like if the track had been standard Belle Vue it would have been really hard to stop Dan. He generates so much speed here.

“But I’ll be honest, sat on that start line before the final, I strongly believe if I could make the gate and make it to the dirt line before Dan, I could beat him.

“If you got on that dirt line you would put everything on the line. I feel like I rode with my head through the heats.

“I was in the dirt, rode it conservatively, did my job and got to the final. Then you stick your neck out in the final.

“I got across Ben and I knew I had to get to that dirt line but Dan came swooping across on top of me.”

It’s a huge fixture for both midlands teams as they bid to cement a place in the Play-Offs.

Both are tied on 29 points, two ahead of fourth-placed Ipswich and five in front of Sheffield in fifth, who have a meeting in hand.
