IPSWICH No.1 Jason Doyle admits his side are “favourites” to win the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.
The Witches have made a stunning start to the season with their empathic KO Cup victory over Belle Vue, and they kick off their league campaign at Oxford next Thursday (April 3).
The powerhouse Australian has also returned to action in fine style despite missing most of last season through injury.
Doyle said: “The team we have this year, if everyone is fit and healthy by the end of the year, that will be a big chance for us to win the title. We’re coming in as favourites, the team that Chris (Louis) has put together is amazing.
“To bring Tom (Brennan) in is a massive bonus for us guys, we saw him when he guested for us last year and he did an amazing job. He wants to win like us boys do, and that’s the right mindset to be champions.
“The team we’ve had for the last few years, everyone knows their job. We don’t speak a lot in the pits when we’re racing because we already know what we have to do.
“It’s a job for us but as long as we can have some fun, that plays a role in winning the title also.”
