WORKINGTON have snapped up Vinnie Foord because of his “racer’s mentality”.
The Comets snapped up the Sussex kid after his impressive performances which helped Poole win the Championship treble last month.
Foord, 18, doubled his starting average of 2.00 after joining the Pirates in mid-season, coming to the Comets’ attention with an impressive display in the Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final between the clubs at the GT Tyres Arena.
Promoter Andrew Bain said: “Vinnie’s race against us last season really caught our eye. He embodies what we’re trying to achieve in our club and is a rider who will never give up, and I’m sure with the personality and racer’s mentality he has, he will become a fan favourite very quickly.
“As soon as we found out Vinnie was available next year, we had to get him on board. I felt it was an easy decision for him as well, he really likes Northside and every time he has been here showed great potential.
“Vinnie is the second part of what we think is going to be another impressive and exciting team for 2025. I urge our fans to stay tuned with more news coming very soon.”
