TOM BRENNAN says Glasgow must be ready for a Scunthorpe “backlash” at Ashfield.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers are two points ahead in their BSN Series semi-final after a stunning 46-44 first leg win at the Eddie Wright Raceway.

But captain Brennan, 21, believes the Scorpions will come out fighting to try and overturn the deficit, live on BSN tonight.

He said: “Scunthorpe are a very good team with strength right through the order and they have guys who all ride well at Ashfield.

“We spoke after the win at their place last Friday and all agreed that we couldn’t be complacent in the second leg. We definitely won’t be tonight.

“You can be sure that they will be fired-up to get revenge. So we will have to beware of a backlash from them. We are ready for a tough meeting.

“It’s a semi-final and a big meeting really early in the season. To make a final would be a great boost for the club and all the boys. So we need to make sure we are ready for whatever Scunthorpe throw at us.”

It’s three weeks since Glasgow last raced at Ashfield against Berwick in the group stages. But Brennan does not feel that will hamper the home side.

He added: “We’ve had some practice laps since then. All the boys have been racing elsewhere, it shouldn’t be a problem.

“We are looking forward to getting back racing in front of the Glasgow fans. It should be another epic night and hopefully a home win.”
