CHRIS HOLDER says that he and his Sheffield team-mates are “chomping at the bit” to race at Owlerton.

After three postponed fixtures in the opening month of the season they are set to host King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership on Thursday.

And that will be the first racing on Owlerton shale since the epic October evening when they lifted the league crown by beating Ipswich in the play-off final.

Despite the lack of home comfort the Tru7 Group Tigers have managed four league points on their 2024 travels, two of which came last time out when Holder, alongside brother Jack, engineered a match-winning 5-1 in a last-heat decider atLeicester.

Now they’re hoping the weather will finally be on their side as they return to the Steel City.

Holder said: “Everyone’s chomping at the bit to get our first meeting run at home.

“We’ve been doing what we can on the road and able to pick up a few points thankfully.

“It might be a lot later than expected, but at least we’re going to be rolling up to Sheffield ready to go.”

The visit by the Stars means a return to Sheffield of Tobias Musielak who had a huge role to play in the Tigers reaching the play-offs but missed the actual series after breaking a leg in his native Poland.

Having switched to Norfolk in the winter and been appointed captain of the Stars, the 30-year-old from Leszno is now plotting his former club’s downfall.

King’s Lynn have lost both their Premiership matches so far but in Benjamin Basso and Vadim Tarasenko they have two in-form riders.

Sheffield: Jack Holder, Kyle Howarth, Chris Holder, Josh Pickering, Tai Woffinden, Jason Edwards, Dan Gilkes.

King’s Lynn: Tobiasz Musielak, Niels-Kristian Iversen, Michael Palm Toft, Benjamin Basso, Vadim Tarasenko, Patryk Wojdylo, Anders Rowe.
