BOSS Michael Tomalin has dropped the biggest hint yet that Peterborough are on the verge of shaking-up their Premiership squad.

The Panthers’ CEO has taken to Twitter to give fans a long-awaited boost in the club’s search for a replacement for three-times World Champion Nicki Pedersen.

And he claims that there will be two newcomers in Peterborough’s purple in the next few days.

The Panthers have been heavily linked with Australian Rohan Tungate and Russian Vadim Tarasenko in recent weeks but the club’s management have stayed tight-lipped about their targets.

But now Tomalin has all but confirmed they are the incoming stars on the brink of joining.

He let the cats out of the bag in a conversation with fans on the Facebook Panthers speedway chat group.

Administrator Mark Carter wrote about 2021 World Champion Artem Laguta’s debut for top-flight rivals King’s Lynn: “Laguta did pretty well, but you need the rest of the team to perform.  Ipswich even lost tonight, we’re not far off a decent team if we can sort out this long running saga of getting a number one.”

Tomalin, who is also one of the club's two major sponsors, responded: “Sit tight, it's coming very soon.”

Another member asked: “How soon” and Tomalin replied: “Days” before adding “Just goes to show it’s a team that wins and we will have depth, that's the winning formula.”

The conversation continued: “Who we bring in” to which the CEO wrote: “I think the whole world knows the two” and a thumbs up emoji.

That clearly points to Tungate and Tarasenko unless Tomalin is playing a game of double bluff.

Peterborough fans have been increasingly restless after collecting the wooden spoon last year when they were defending the league crown secured by ‘Dad’s Army’ in 2021. This season has also started with a string of defeats, Panthers only victory in their first nine matches at home to King’s Lynn.

And when Stars’ promoter Alex Brady pulled off the stunning signing of Laguta, the supporters’ unrest increased as Peterborough’s search for someone to take over the number one race jacket following Pedersen’s decision to quit after crashing in his opening ride of Panthers’ season, went on.
