BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon admitted he was “super-proud” of his side after winning the Premiership title.
The ATPI Aces delivered their second league crown in three seasons with an emphatic victory at Leicester last night (Thursday).
Lemon’s side won 49-41 in the East Midlands to comfortably wrap it up 103-77 on aggregate.
The Aces never looked in danger of relinquishing their 18-pint lead from the National Speedway Stadium in the first leg.
Lemon said: “I’m naturally over the moon, I’m super-proud of the boys for such a professional job over the two legs.
“This is another fantastic night for the Belle Vue Aces. Our second league title in three years is just sensational and I’m delighted for the fans.
“This win is for the supporters and our wonderful owners Tony Rice and Robin Southwell for their incredible investment in the club.
“The boys did such a great job. They came out fighting and the 5-1 in Heat 2 really seemed to knock the stuffing out of Leicester.
“We led for most of the meeting and Leicester is a tough place to go.
“Dan Bewley and Brady Kurtz led from the front and were both unbeaten. But every rider did their job, the 3-3s kept Leicester at bay throughout.
“To see so many Belle Vue fans on the home straight celebrating was such an amazing feeling.
“We have built something very special at the National Speedway Stadium over the past few years. We have taken the club back to the top of the sport.”
Captain Kurtz was outstanding in both legs, dropping just three points.
He added: “It’s been an amazing four years for me at Belle Vue. Three finals and two wins.
“A few years ago I would never have imagined being at Belle Vue but now I live in Manchester and never want to leave the club.
“I felt the team did such an incredible job over the two legs. I thought it would be tougher tonight at Leicester but we started so strong and that seemed to knock the stuffing out of them.
“It was a proper professional job and I’m so pleased for the boss Mark Lemon, he’s worked so hard.”
