DAN BEWLEY feels he is stronger than ever to tackle an INSANE racing calendar for 2023.

The cool Cumbrian will bid to win the prestigious Peter Craven Memorial at the National Speedway Stadium tonight, live on BSN.

Bewley, 23, believes he has prepared perfectly for a rigorous season ahead after a close season of racing and training. He said: “I feel like I’ve had a winter of real motorcycling. I’ve ridden speedway, flat track, motocross. I’ve had an off-season like a MotoGP rider. It’s kind of how it should be.

“I’ve been doing some good training too in the gym. I’ve put a bit of weight on, that’s muscle weight. “I didn’t have any issue but it’s just something I wanted to do, I felt like I could improve my riding a little bit if I was a bit stronger.”

The ATPI Aces star also revealed an insane schedule of one meeting every other day until the end of October. He added: “There’s a lot of meetings ahead and it’s tough. But you choose what you want to sign up for.

“I’ve looked at my calendar and there’s a fair bit going on, but that was my choice.

“Now it’s about doing the best job I can. I think I’ve got 15 meetings a month, that’s literally one every other day for the rest of the season. “People say it’s a lot of meetings. I did think about it a lot. I didn’t think it was anything extra to be honest.

“I’m looking forward to it, I’ve got a lot of gate drops. Hopefully we should make a few! “I like bike time. We only race for five minutes a night. The only real thing is there’s so much adrenalin and gate drops. That does take it out of you a little bit.

“I feel like we’re a sport where if you are prepared to do it, we can race a lot.”
