Former GP stars Maciej Janowski and Emil Sayfutdinov go head-to-head when Oxford Spires welcome Ipswich Witches in a fascinating clash.
Thursday is the clash of the two early-season ROWE Motor Oil Premiership form teams, Oxford picking up the maximum seven points on offer from their three matches and Ipswich winning both of their league outings and a KO Cup tie at Leicester.
Both teams are at full strength and Ipswich will be hoping that Jordan Jenkins – who rides for Oxford’s Championship side, the Cheetahs – can use his knowledge of the Cowley circuit.
Witches team manager Ritchie Hawkins said: It will be a new test for us, Oxford have built a very good side and started the season well. They look a very strong side.
“After winning at Leicester, I said to the boys if we can win there, we can win anywhere. It will be a new track for some of the boys and unusually our less experienced riders will have probably done more laps there than the more experienced guys.”
Oxford: Maciej Janowski, Charles Wright, Nicolai Klindt, Rohan Tungate, Chris Harris, Lewis Kerr, Ashton Boughen.
Ipswich: Emil Sayfutdinov, Jordan Jenkins, Danny King, Adam Ellis, Jason Doyle, Keynan Rew, Dan Thompson.
