OXFORD boss Peter Schroeck says his side won’t take Redcar “lightly” at Cowley.

The Cheetahs begin their Cab Direct Championship league campaign at home to Redcar tonight, live on BSN.

The home side are forced into one change with rider replacement in operation for the injured Henry Atkins.

Redcar bring in Michael Palm Toft and Dan Thompson to guest for injured duo Danny King and Jason Edwards and they are looking for the track knowledge of Charles Wright – who rides for Oxford in the Premiership – to assist their cause.

Schroeck said: “We won’t be taking Redcar lightly. The Bears haven’t had the best start to the season, but we always treat the opposition with respect. There’s still a job for us to do.

“Of course, we want to start our league meetings in the Cab Direct Championship with a victory. The starting point in the league is to win your home meetings. After that, it’s about aggregate bonus points and taking away wins where you can.”

Bears boss Gavin Parr said: “There is absolutely nothing to fear about going to Oxford. Yes, they are a good side but there is no reason why we can’t win on the night, and that’s what we are planning on!

“With Charles’ inside knowledge, he can help with set-ups and that will help in our attempts to win tonight.”
