TOM BRENNAN says the historic treble season with Poole will ‘stick with him forever’.

The Great Britain star capped a fabulous campaign with another Speedway of Nations gold medal and three trophies in his debut year with the Wessex Marine Pirates.

Brennan, 23, went up a performance level yet again in 2024 including a wild card appearance at the British Grand Prix.

He has now won three league titles over the past three seasons and paid tribute to the man-management at Wimborne Road.

He said: “It’s an absolute honour to kind of represent the Pirates this year and it's everything the club deserves and I am just so grateful that obviously we could win it all for the fans.

“Everything seems to click here at Poole and Danny and Matt, create a really good environment here and everybody works as a team. There’s something at this club that will stick with me forever.”

Brennan also gave credit to the unsung Pirates Tobias Thomsen, Sam Hagon and Vinnie Foord who came up trumps in the finals.

He added: “I think a lot of credit must go to Toby, Sammy and Vinnie. Sammy has found it a little bit tough this year but, remember, he is the British Under-21 champion. Vinnie has done really well to come along with the way he did and I am sure they will both be able to make progress.

“Toby has been outstanding in the finals and that has made all the difference.”
