KING’S LYNN boss David Hoggart says they need to be “hitting” Sheffield early to avoid another drubbing.

The struggling Stars were torn apart by the high-flying Tigers on their last visit to the Adrian Flux Arena last month.

But new Lynn boss Hoggart believes that with Artem Laguta back in the line-up they can fight all the way.

Hoggart said: “We know that Sheffield are going to be a huge challenge. They absolutely romped away with it the last time they came here, so we anticipate a tough meeting.

“Sheffield have got a team of big-track specialists, and they will relish the thought of coming to King’s Lynn on Thursday, so we’ve got a real challenge on our hands.

“But we’ve got to go for every single point. We’ve got to be thinking no last places, and when you’re at home you’ve got to think about hitting the opposition early, right from the start of the meeting, and maximising those opportunities.”

The Stars have failed to beat Tigers in 14 attempts since Sheffield returned to the top flight in 2021 and have Ben Barker in as a guest for the injured Michael Palm Toft.

Just to add extra spice to the brew, Sheffield arrive at the Flux Arena with mid-season signing Josh Pickering, the former Stars captain.

Pickering said: “It’s no different for me. King’s Lynn were good to me while I was there and I wish them all the best.

“I’m committed to Sheffield now though, and I’ve just got to focus on what I’m doing right now and I’m happy with where I am.”
