EDINBURGH No.1 Justin Sedgmen was delighted to win at Glasgow after fearing a “battering”.
The Monarchs grabbed an unexpected 46-44 win at Ashfield in the Scottish Cup second leg on Friday night.
Tigers won the trophy by two points on aggregate but Sedgmen was still happy with the result.
He said: “Everyone thought we were going to get a bit of a battering tonight and the boys did good.
“Oskar (Polis) came and rode the track really well, Victor (Palovaara) was dialled in from the start and Jonatan (Grahn) won his last race with small improvements every race.
“For me as well it hasn’t been going great and that was a good meeting and I felt like it was a real good step in the right direction.”
Glasgow captain Chris Harris was equally happy despite the home defeat.
He added: “It will take some of the boys some time to settle in at Ashfield.
“It was a tough night but we won the Scottish Cup. It’s the club’s second trophy of the season in just eight days, that’s not bad going.”
