REDCAR boss Jamie Swales says this might be a “once in a generation” chance for his club to do the TREBLE.
The Bears take on Poole in a blockbuster Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final, second leg at the ECCO Arena this evening, live on BSN.
Swales’ side need to overturn a six-point deficit from the first leg at Wimborne Road to reach the final and take on Glasgow.
He said: “This might be a once in a generation opportunity for us to potentially claim a treble. This is our best season ever as we speak now but we just need to get these trophies in the bag now.
“Over our last few matches it has been a real team effort, everyone has been scoring and we need to continue that and ensure we get as few last places as possible.”
Redcar again track Jake Allen as a guest for long-term absentee Erik Riss, whilst Jack Smith steps in at reserve for Jody Scott who is out with concussion.
Meanwhile Poole go into the meeting without No.1 Richard Lawson who misses out on compassionate grounds, and Adam Ellis has been booked to guest.
Pirates promoter Dan Ford said: “Without a doubt Redcar are a formidable team this season and ideally I would have preferred to have been going there with a few more race points in hand.
“But they did a good holding job on us at Wimborne Road and it is now down to us to ride to our potential and make sure it is us who will be meeting Glasgow in the Grand Final.”
REDCAR: Charles Wright, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Jake Allen, Danny King, Jack Smith, Ace Pijper.
POOLE: Adam Ellis, Tobias Thomsen, Lewis Kerr, Zach Cook, Anders Rowe, Paul Starke, Will Cairns.
