REDCAR hot prospect Jason Edwards hopes they can outgun a rusty Plymouth.
The Gladiators remarkably haven’t raced on their home Coliseum circuit for almost two months.
Now they host the high-flying Bears in the Cab Direct Championship tonight, live on BSN.
Ben Barker will be given a warm welcome after producing a fine third place performance in the British Final.
Edwards said: “Plymouth have made a hell of a lot of changes since their last home meeting and that does give us a massive advantage over the Gladiators as their home track isn’t actually their home circuit, as they’ve got a different team and haven’t had a meeting there for months!
“The Edinburgh meeting last Friday was a really good meeting, we didn’t drop many points between the seven of us and there’s more to come from the boys ahead of tonight’s match against Plymouth and tomorrow’s match against Poole.”
Barker is buzzing after his typically swashbuckling display at the National Speedway Stadium.
He said: “Ben Barker is not finished. I want it and I’m loving my speedway. It just goes to show that I’m as quick as all the guys.
“Listen when the track is dodgy, I want to get stuck in. That’s what it is all about, keeping your wheels in line and going for it. If in doubt just go for it. That’s what I do.
“I want a chance of showing what I can do at a higher level. If I don’t get anything further this year, I’ll be the best I’ve ever been next year.”
