EDINBURGH captain Josh Pickering is hoping the bad luck is over before their biggest clash of the season.

The Stellar Monarchs face Scunthorpe in their Cab Direct Championship Play-Off at Armadale tonight, live on BSN.

It’s a must-win tie for the home side after they were smashed 59-31 in the first leg in North Lincolnshire.

Edinburgh need to produce their best form of the season to turnaround the aggregate score and try and beat defending champions Poole in the remaining Group A fixtures.

Pickering said: “We all know what we have to do to try and get to that pointy end of the field at the right time.

“We can only hope all the bad luck is behind us and we can all keep picking up points and we will see where that takes us.”

The tie is equally as important to the visitors - a win is now essential to the Scorpions after a home defeat to Poole Pirates at the Eddie Wright Raceway last night.

Should Scunthorpe take 3 points from tonight's clash, it would leave them sitting at the top of Play-Off Group A with the Pirates needing at least a point from their two remianing fixtures to qualify for this year's final.
