BERWICK boss Stewart Dickson believes his side can “deliver” as they face their biggest test of the season.

The Bandits go to Edinburgh tonight (Friday) live on BSN, then take on Redcar at Shielfield Park on Saturday before clashing with Glasgow at Ashfield on Sunday.

Dickson has made a swift move to replace Bastian Borke with Jack Smith and knows it will be a tough weekend.

He said: “This is definitely the biggest three days of the season so far for us. I’m confident my team can deliver.

“Our BSN Series group destiny will be decided with the trips to Edinburgh and Glasgow. I strongly believe we have the side to get the results we need to stay in contention.

“In between it’s a big home meeting with Redcar in the KO Cup. They are a very good side so we need to build up a good lead for the second leg at their place.”

It’s been a massive blow for the club that Borke hasn’t recovered fully from injuries sustained last July.

Dickson added: “It’s a real shame because Bastian has worked very hard to get back on a bike. Let’s not forget at one point there was a question over whether he would walk properly again let alone race speedway.

“Anyone who watched our first two meetings knows that despite his efforts Bastian is nowhere near fully fit and it’s in his interests as much as ours to take a step back and concentrate on rehabilitation and further recovery.

“Jack was available and keen to come. He will hit the ground running and maybe have a point to prove to some clubs.

“We’re happy for him to do that in Berwick colours.”
