GLASGOW boss Cami Brown says his side has the “hunger” to deliver a second league title in three years.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers need to overturn a 12-point deficit against Poole in the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final at Ashfield tonight (Friday).

Brown is adamant that the job can be done against the serial winners Pirates.

He vowed: “I firmly believe that this team has got one last big performance in its locker.

“They have shown the hunger and determination to do the job that is needed.

“The last home meeting against Edinburgh in the play-off semi-final was proper edge-of-the-seat stuff and the most dramatic conclusion.

“Now the boys have got to produce something similar tonight to win the league title.

“From Chris Harris to Max Perry, they all gave it every last drop of blood, sweat and tears at Poole. If they can produce another performance of that calibre, we have got a big chance tonight.

“We’ve hit 53 points or over six times already this season at Ashfield. We can do it again and create more history.”

Brown also believes it will be a blockbuster and highly-entertaining clash.

He said: “We have had another season of breathtaking racing in this stadium and that will never change. The owners of this club only want the best for the supporters.

“Speedway is an entertainment not just about trophies. We want to win the right way.

“Poole have been the benchmark of success in British speedway over the past two decades. There’s no doubt they will be hard to stop.

“The Pirates have a very solid side and they’ve already wrapped up the MAXiCab KO Cup. It’s up to us to stop them.

“The fans can definitely help us. In the semi-final with Edinburgh it was noisier at Ashfield than I’ve ever known it. Then we had great support at Poole.

“The red and white army have once again been wonderful this season. Let’s make Ashfield a cauldron again tonight.”

The teams are unchanged from the opening clash and Pirates promoter Dan Ford has summed up the mood as they head into what is set to be the most intense clash of the campaign.

Ford said: “Glasgow is an incredibly hard place to go to as they are very strong at home, and so we have to be positive and set about stopping them getting heat advantages which could quickly whittle away our lead.

“It is going to be a tense battle, that’s for sure, and we cannot afford any below-par performances. We need an all-round team performance, each of the lads riding to their best ability.

“We have been asking that a lot from the boys in recent weeks but I know they have it in them to respond.

“We are precious about our trophies and this is one we desperately want to keep in our cabinet.”
