BOSS Danny Ford says it’s an “opportunity” for Matt Marson to make an impact at Poole in the Cab Direct Championship.
The Wessex Marine Pirates have snapped up the Australian-born star to open the season at reserve at Wimborne Road.
The 24-year-old had a brief spell with Edinburgh in 2019 but has spent the majority of his career in the NDL with Mildenhall and most recently Belle Vue.
Marson joins the Pirates for the start of their title defence, with the club then intending to bring in William Cairns when he turns 16 and becomes eligible for a professional licence on June 29.
Poole promoter Dan Ford said: “We’re delighted to welcome Matt to Poole. This is an opportunity for him to gain valuable Championship experience and showcase his talent on this stage.
“Both parties see this as a positive step, Matt is eager to make his mark and put himself in the shop window, and we’re confident he’ll make the most of his time with us.”
