POOLE boss Danny Ford believes his side are beginning to find their stride as they face rivals Glasgow, live on BSN.

The top two of the Cab Direct Championship face a blockbuster clash at Wimborne Road tonight.

Hot prospect Will Cairns makes his senior debut for the Pirates while Glasgow have guests in Joe Thompson and Danyon Hume covering for Leon Flint (injury) and Villads Nagel (racing in Denmark).

Ford said: “I feel that we are beginning to get into our stride with our recent league meetings and we are in a good place currently.

“We can of course strengthen that further with three points on offer but we will need to pull together as a seven man unit just like we have been doing of late.

“Of course there is a considerable amount of interest in young Will joining us, but we must remember that, talented as he is, we will need him to settle into the new challenges.

“I believe here at Poole he will have the riders, and management behind him to help further his bright career.”

Glasgow boss Cami Brown knows it will be another tough trip to Dorset.

He added: “Poole are always the yardstick but we’ve proved that we can get good results down there.

“It’s never ideal to have to track two guests but we’ve got two great riders in Danyon and Joe who we know will give it everything for us.”

Poole: Richard Lawson, Tobias Thomsen, Lewis Kerr, Zach Cook (c), Anders Rowe, Paul Starke, William Cairns.

Glasgow: Chris Harris (c), Daynon Hume (G), Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson (G), Kyle Howarth, Freddy Hodder, Max Perry.
