POOLE boss Danny Ford expects a “feast” as they defend a 40-MATCH unbeaten run at Wimborne Road.
The Pirates take on Glasgow tonight in Dorset, a repeat of the epic Cab Direct Championship Grand Final last October.
However, Poole delivered a huge blow on Friday night over the Tigers by ending their unbeaten home league run that stretched back to late 2022.
Ford said: “I think we could be in for an exciting meeting on Wednesday night. You always know that when Bomber is in turn then there will be some drama.
“He is one of those riders who is simply loved wherever he rides and his battles on Friday at Glasgow with Richard (Lawson), Ben (Cook) and Tom (Brennan) in particular was something to behold.
“He enjoys racing at Poole as much as anywhere, and so we could be in for a real feast on Wednesday night.”
Pirates are hopeful that Tobias Thomsen will be fit to race after crashing out last week, whilst the Tigers bring in Ben Barker to guest for unwell former Poole star Steve Worrall.
Glasgow boss Cami Brown admits it’s going to be a huge task to outgun high-flying Poole.
He said: “There’s no doubt that Poole are the most in-form side in the league and firm favourites to regain their title.
“Since they returned to the second tier in 2021 they’ve won the title every year until we managed to stop that last October.
“They have responded with another strong side and it’s up to everyone else to stop them.
“We are obviously still hurting from losing our unbeaten record at Ashfield to them on Friday night. There’s nothing worse than getting beaten on your home patch. It’s not something we are used to.
“We are naturally fired-up to do the same to them. But we will need every one of our boys to deliver a great performance.
“The one thing that has stood out this season about our team is the fighting spirit. We will need all that guts and attitude to get a result at Poole.”
