GLASGOW boss Cami Brown has expressed his relief that young star Ace Pijper escaped just “battered and bruised” after a big crash in France.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers’ kid was knocked off during a pre-season meeting at Morizes on Sunday afternoon.

Pijper, 16, was rushed to hospital unconscious and later underwent a MRI scan, which was later revealed as all-clear.

He has now been released from hospital after originally spending time in Intensive Care.

Team boss Cami Brown admits it was a huge scare over young reserve Pijper.

Brown said: “We know that it was a bad one for Ace. According to his dad Theo he’s had scans in a French hospital and they were OK.

“But he’s still been in intensive care so our thoughts right now are with him making a full recovery.

“Naturally we have a major concern for him and all that matters right now is that he is able to leave hospital with a clean bill of health.

“It’s obviously been a massive scare and big relief that he's OK.”

Pijper was making his debut in France when he was wiped out across the track.

His mum Carrie explained: “Ace is fairly battered and bruised all over. He was unconscious for quite a while on the track.

“He was taken away from the circuit by the fire brigade, which is quite normal in France.

“He’s obviously suffered a heavy concussion but had an MRI scan which thankfully was all-clear.

“We have to travel back from France by car and then he will have another check from the doctor in Edinburgh when we get home.

“It was a big crash but certainly not his fault. He was leading his race but Mathieu Trésarrieu came across from the white line and wiped him out completely.

“Ace got caught up on his bike, it spun round and he was left a passenger as it threw him off up the straight.

“We are naturally just relieved that nothing was broken and no permanent damage.

“Ace will have to rest up for a couple of weeks. But after seeing the crash it was a worry it could have been a lot worse.

“It’s not the most ideal preparation for the season. Hopefully he can recover quickly and be OK before the end of March.”
