TRIPLE World Speedway Champion Nicki Pedersen is making his way back to British shores, after being announced by the Peterborough Panthers as their new number 1 for the upcoming season.

Known for his ruthless racing skills and intense desire to win, 45-year-old superstar Pedersen is a rider that is sure to put ‘bums on seats’ and appears to be a shrewd signing by the Panthers management.

He returns to the shale after serious injuries ended his 2022 campaign, but as a rider renowned for his strong mentality and high levels of fitness, there will be little doubt over his ability to overcome last season’s woes.

During a short interview given for Peterborough Panthers’ social media, a trim looking Pedersen told supporters, “I’m fully fit – I’ve worked very hard the last 3 months. My weight is great, my personality is good, so I look forward to seeing you all guys. See you soon.”

Pedersen, who was also announced as team manager for Denmark’s national side recently, is the latest of a host of big names to return to British Speedway in 2023.

Emil Sayfutdinov was named in the Ipswich Withes’ side earlier this week, whilst Dan Bewley, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Niels Kristian Iversen, Jaimon Lidsey and David Bellego are also on the list of returning international stars to start in this year’s Premiership.

Fans will be encouraged to see a clear demarcation appearing between British Speedway’s top 2 leagues, with GP Stars Jason Doyle, Max Fricke and Jack Holder also committed to racing for Premiership sides this year.
