HOME boss Peter Schroeck expects a “fierce” clash as Oxford and Glasgow battle to preserve their unbeaten records.
The top two of the Cab Direct Championship go head-to-head at Cowley tonight, live on BSN.
The Cheetahs have drafted in Rory Schlein as a guest for the injured Lewis Kerr, who remains out with a broken collarbone.
Schroeck said: “Glasgow have been in outstanding form in the league this season. They’re the in-form team, which only adds to the excitement for the supporters and ourselves before the meeting starts.
“Glasgow’s blend of youth and experience can be dangerous but we’re equally capable, and we have that all important home track advantage which we must use in our favour.
“One thing we can guarantee is no team will want to end the night with an ‘L’ next to their name. This is about making a statement to the rest of the division that the Cheetahs are on a mission this season following our regeneration.
“We’re grateful to Rory Schlein for stepping in for Lewis Kerr who continues to recover from his collarbone injury. The racing will be fierce and we’ll need our supporters behind the boys again if we’re to keep this 100 per cent record going.”
Glasgow boss Cami Brown feels his side need to find an extra gear at Cowley.
He said: “It’s a strange situation, it’s the battle of the top two sides in the division but I don’t feel we’ve hit top form yet in any way.
“Oxford have looked very strong. Their top three have been awesome while Jordan Jenkins has also stepped up to become a big scorer.
“They will be missing Lewi Kerr through injury but I still think they remain hard to beat. Rory Schlein comes in as a guest for them so they have the same strength really.
“The simple fact for us is that we need to fire on all cylinders. I don’t think we’ve had a meeting yet where all seven of the boys have hit form together.
“They will probably need to do that if we are to get a result at Oxford.
“It’s our biggest test yet. We are unbeaten so far in the league and that record will face its sternest challenge yet.”
