EDINBURGH’S new signing Oskar Polis is “optimistic” he can cope with the technical UK tracks.
The Pole will make his debut with the Stellar Monarchs at Armadale against Glasgow in the Scottish Cup on April 4.
Polis, 28, is confident that he will adapt quickly and be a huge addition to the side.
He told the Monarchs website: “I have already competed in all leagues where speedway takes place, the only league in which I have never competed is Britain.
“I have two motorcycles prepared, two engines, you can say, for British tracks. After watching videos on the internet from meetings held at these stadiums, I think it will not be a problem for me to fit in and to get good results.
“I like technical tracks, difficult, full of holes, so at the moment I think nothing. But this can change, I hope that it won’t change, but I need time to check. For now, I’m optimistic.
“I know that I haven't forgotten how to ride a motorbike.
“I’m looking forward to the first matches and scoring good points.
“I got a proposal that was quite nicely logistical, so I decided that it was worth trying.
“The team manager John Campbell helped me arrange the logistics quite cleverly.
“The logistics are quite complicated, but when we get into the flow of it - planes, airports, flights - I think it will work great.
“Doing this for 17 years, I treat it as a job. It’s nice to get back for sure, because there was a long winter break.”
