LEICESTER captain Max Fricke has been voted by the British Speedway fans as their Rider of the Year in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.
Fricke led the Lions to a second successive Grand Final as well as KO Cup success, as well as raising his personal average to the ten-point mark.
He received nearly half of the votes, which saw him defeat fellow Australian and Belle Vue captain Brady Kurtz, who enjoyed another sensational season.
The award for Rising Star of the Season was taken by Sheffield’s Leon Flint, who took over half of the vote after a brilliant campaign saw him move into the top five of the Tigers’ team.
Runner-up in this category was Jason Edwards who started the season with Birmingham but ended it with a title-winners’ medal after playing his part in Ipswich’s success.
And two Witches riders were top of their respective polls with Tom Brennan voted as Signing of the Season with a whopping 62 per cent of the vote.
Meanwhile Dan Thompson was voted Most Improved Rider on 59 per cent with Flint in second place.
