KYE THOMSON says he is "super-motivated" to be a big hit after signing for Edinburgh again.
The hugely-popular Australian has re-joined the Stellar Monarchs as they re-shape their team for the 2025 season. Entering his fifth campaign as a Monarch, Thomson links up with Justin Sedgmen, Victor Palovaara, Jonatan Grahn already announced at Armadale.
He said: “I am super excited to say I’ll be back in 2025. As you all know, I had some extensive time out with injury which was not the way I wanted to end the year.
“It has made me super-motivated and I can’t wait to get preparations underway for the new year.
“It’s a fresh start and I’ve got my eyes on some silverware. I can’t wait to meet the new faces in the team. See you all soon - I can't wait!”
Thomson is quick to admit that he needs to make rapid progress up the ranks to fulfil a heat leader role.
He added: “I was looking towards being in that position at maybe the No.5 last season.
“But having an injury and not enough rides, it just didn’t quite work out like I planned at all.
“Justin (Sedgmen) had a great season and you couldn’t fault him for his performances, he was solid all year. He was scoring good points for us.
“I ended up going from No.3 to No.2. But that was just to try and get the team some more points. That actually did work to a certain extent.
“My aim now is to be in the No.1 or No.5 spot. That’s my goal. It doesn’t really come that easy when your meetings are so spaced out.
“I need to do what most of the top heat leader boys are doing with both leagues. It’s hard when you are always playing catch-up.”
