SHEFFIELD captain Kyle Howarth admits “revenge” is in the air as they face Premiership rivals Ipswich.

The top two sides in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership go head-to-head at Owlerton tonight, live on BSN.

The Witches lead the table by four points with both teams having six matches remaining, and the Suffolk side are the only visiting club to win at the home of the defending champions this season, with their play-off place already secured.

Sheffield bring in Chris Harris to guest, exactly as they did when they won the 2023 Grand Final against Ipswich, with Harris replacing Tai Woffinden who faces an extension to his period on the sidelines.

Meanwhile the Witches will operate rider replacement in the No.1 position for the injured Jason Doyle.

Tigers captain Kyle Howarth said: “Of course we’d like to get some revenge because we didn’t like losing at home to them earlier in the season, and we’d like to show them this time what we’re really about.

“It would be nice if we could get a nice, comfortable win with everyone chipping in from 1-7 to give us a good chance of going and getting the aggregate point at their place in a couple of weeks.”

Ipswich boss Ritchie Hawkins said: “It is a top of the table clash and I think realistically it is going to be one of these two teams that finish top at the end of the regular season before the play-offs.

“These two fixtures could have a big bearing on which way that goes. After the first set of fixtures, we are on top and we have got to try and keep on that in this second round of fixtures against Sheffield.”
