GP star Jan Kvech makes his British speedway bow for King’s Lynn in tonight’s ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash with Oxford at the Adrian Flux Arena.

The Czech racer comes in on an assessed six-point average in place of the injured Michael Palm Toft and lines up at number three which allows the Stars to move free-scoring Pole Patryk Wojdylo back to reserve. Leicester’s Richard Lawson guests at number one in place of Tobias Musielak.

King’s Lynn’s last meeting was the impressive ten-point KO Cup win over Sheffield and they will be looking for an equally impressive performance with aggregate point very much in play, King’s Lynn trailing by four points following their 43-47 defeat at Cowley in April.

Oxford will be equally keen to bag the extra point as they currently sit in the final play-off spot just a point clear of Leicester.

Although newcomers to the Premiership in 2024, Oxford arrive with plenty of experience of the AFA, Lewis Kerr and Erik Riss both having enjoyed spells with the Stars in recent years while former World No.3 Maciej Janowski spent a season with Lynn back in 2012 and is finally begun to show his true form after a tough start to his UK return.

They are managed by former Stars boss Peter Schroeck who makes his first return in charge of another team since leaving midway through the 2021 season.

Current Lynn boss Rob Lyon believes the inclusion of Kvech is a timely boost as they enter a busy spell and look to haul themselves off the foot of the table with a number of meetings in hand over all of their rivals.

He said: “Jan is certainly going to make the team much more solid and it allows us to put Wojdylo at reserve, which is a big bonus.

“We’ll need to be on song to achieve another positive result. We’ve got Richard again at who loves riding here and was excellent last time out. I’m confident we can get the job done.”
