LEWIS Kerr has landed the biggest backing of his career…because of his cool face tattoos!

The Sheffield star got into a chance conversation at the bar of his local gastro pub and ended up with a five-figure sponsorship from superbike backer Alan Boyden, boss of a steel company with an annual £220 million turnover.

Kerr admitted: “It’s incredible and it’s so weird and I think I believe in fate now.

“I only went into the bar in a local village because my wife had a food voucher and I was standing at the bar when this guy came in to get a drink and we started talking about my head tattoos.

“He had tattoos as well and we got talking about bikes and told me how his company sponsored riders in the British Superbike Championship and I explained what I did and it ended up with them sponsoring me.

“I had lost a couple of sponsors that morning, it would have been a real big struggle for me and I was getting a bit worried – if I’d never got my head tattoos we wouldn’t have even got talking.”

Boyden, joint boss of AJN Steelstock Limited who employ more than 400 workers, added: “Our conversation turned from our latest artwork to motorsport and we made an instant connection and we are delighted to be supporting Lewis  who is a hugely talented speedway rider.”
