EDINBURGH have signed Michael Palm Toft - but he misses the crunch Scottish derbies.
The Stellar Monarchs have snapped up the Dane to replace Pole Oskar Polis who walked out on the club earlier this month.
However, Palm Toft, 34, is not ready for the crucial MAXiCab KO Cup quarter-final clashes with Glasgow on Friday night at Armadale and Saturday at Ashfield.
MPT said: “I am really looking forward to getting to ride for the Monarchs.
“It has been a few years we have been talking back and forth but nothing has really come out of it. I guess circumstance has made it possible now, here we are, and I can't wait to get started.”
Palm Toft missed the start of the season but admits he’s delighted to sign up at Armadale.
He added: “I decided to take some more time to get over the injuries I had last year and just work really.
“I was in a different position than ever in that I also have a full time job so it was just one of them where I thought I’ll take a bit of time out, get over the injury, and get hungry to get back on the bike so it was a funny situation but it has worked out and I am hungry to get back.
“It is a team with lots of potential in it. There are a lot of good riders that can score well home and away as they have a lot of experience.
“I think it is only really Jonathan Grahn who is new to British Speedway so I think we will be one of the better teams the rest of the way and when I get going back to full power it will be good to be in with the rest of the boys as well and I think we can go well.”
