GLASGOW’S play-off hopes are on the line tonight as they enter the house of their fiercest rivals.

Anything other than victory at Edinburgh Monarchs tonight will hand Workington the final post-season berth while a win would allow the Tigers to take it right down to the final match of the season, at home to Oxford on Sunday.

A Monarchs’ victory would see them move off the bottom of the table, leap-frogging Berwick in the race to avoid the wooden spoon.

But they have to do it without the injured duo of Kye Thomson and Justin Sedgmen and have called on the Thompson twins, Dan and Joe.

Glasgow also include guests with Ben Barker replacing Leon Flint who is racing in the SGP2 in Latvia while Max Perry – who rides for Edinburgh’s Academy team in the National Development League – replaces the injured Jason Garrad at number seven.

Mid-season signing Matic Ivacic to reserve with James Pearson moving into the top five.

This is the second attempt to stage the match, the first being washed out after seven heats four weeks ago with Monarchs nine points to the good.

Home team manager Alex Harkess said: “It is up to the team to perform, it’s our last match of the season and crucial that we finish on a high.

“As I've said over the years, winning is the same habit as losing and if you get into the wrong habit it is very difficult to change. We need to finish on a high and we must win this match.”
