EDINBURGH have revealed their first signing by snapping up British hot prospect Max James.

The Sheffield-born star will spend his debut year in the Cab Direct Championship with the Stellar Monarchs.

James, 16, has impressed on previous appearances at Armadale and admits he loves the track.

He said: “I'm really looking forward to stepping up to the Championship. I'll learn loads from riding with more experienced riders and I can't wait to get going.

“I've really enjoyed the Armadale track since the first time I rode it and I've had some good results there, particularly in my visit last season with the Leicester Cubs. I like riding technical tracks.”

James has previously won the 250cc category of the Edinburgh round of the British Youth Championship in 2020 followed up with a fourth place finish in 2021, before finishing second in the 500cc category at Armadale in 2022.

Last season James also scored paid 16 for the Leicester Lion Cubs at Armadale.

Co-promoter Alex Harkess said: “Max has developed strongly through the youth scene and has always been one to keep an eye on as he was a real contender.

“At the Monarchs we have always given youth a chance to flourish, and our supporters enjoy watching young riders on their journey. We are delighted to have Max in the team and we are excited to watch him progress.”
