Newly-crowned Polish GP Champion Jack Holder brings his in-form Sheffield to King’s Lynn tonight looking to complete an East Anglian double.

Holder, fresh from his triumph in Warsaw, is something of a track specialist and with four other ex-Stars in their line-up the Tigers are confident they can carry on their fine form having ended Ipswich’s winning start to the season on Thursday.

Having been a happy hunting ground for the Tigers for a long time, King’s Lynn took back control of the Adrian Flux Arena by winning all three meetings between the sides in 2024.

Despite the loss of Tai Woffinden to injury, Sheffield have started the season strongly and include ex-Lynn captains Josh Pickering and Lewis Kerr, Chris Holder – whose time in Norfolk was brief – and last year’s rising star Anders Rowe who is also in fine form at the moment.

In the continuing absence of injured Ben Cook the Stars move Jan Kvech to number two where he will partner Chris Harris with Richard Lawson reverting to number five.

Manager Rob Lyon admitted: “We need to be getting some points on the board. I think we need to take stock at the end of May and see where we’re at.

“These are crucial matches for us”.

“Sheffield are a good team we were good against them at home. There’s no reason why we can’t do the same again.”

Opposite number Simon Stead believes it is time for Sheffield to take their dominant Owlerton form – four wins from four – on the road in only their third away trip of the season.

“We now have to make sure that we take what we can from our home performances, keep riding well as a team on the road and continue to put some more points on the board.”

The aggregate point is also up for grabs, the Tigers having won 57-33 in south Yorkshire.
