BERWICK boss Gary Flint wants to be early stars of the small screen again.
The FTS Bandits will kick off Cab Direct Championship coverage on the British Speedway Network for the second season running.
Last year they began their campaign against Birmingham for BSN’s first-ever transmission.
Now it will be viewers deja vu with Berwick’s second leg local derby clash with Redcar on April Fool’s Day.
Flint said: “We’ve actually got a very decent record on BSN so we’d obviously like that to continue.
“We beat Birmingham comfortably in our opening meeting last season, drew with Poole at home when only an engine failure cost us the win. We also got a win at Oxford and did very well at Poole.
“Of course that’s probably just a coincidence but I’ll take any good omens for the Bandits.
“We are now less than a month away from our opening fixtures at Redcar and then our first home meeting a night later. It’s also only three weeks from press and practice on March 25.
“All the boys are raring to go. The main thing now is to get the preparation right, the team spirit is already good. Then we want to get off to the best start possible.
“Redcar look like a very good side, they will be tough early opponents in the KO Cup.
“I genuinely can’t see any weak sides in the Championship. So whoever we got it would have been a huge early test.
“But it’s the same for every side. Every team boss and promotion will need their side to hit the ground running.”
