GLASGOW boss Cami Brown says his side were “extremely focused” in their pre-season training camp.
The full Allied Vehicles Tigers team arrived back at Ashfield last week as they prepared for the new campaign.
After a gruelling gym programme and hill climbing exercise, Brown is delighted with what he saw.
He revealed: “As a club we put a lot of emphasis on preparation. We want the boys to be in the best possible shape physically, mentally and mechanically.
“I have to say that I am over the moon with the team for this year. They were extremely focused during our training camp. I believe they are the sharpest bunch we’ve had at the club.
“It’s such an important part of the year. We want to start the season strong.
“The training camp is vital to us. Not many clubs do it in the UK. But it’s a staple element of our season now.
“In Poland most of the clubs having been in training camps. That’s the benchmark and we believe in the same prep.
“It’s not just about the training. The team bonding has been excellent. All the boys seem to get on like a house on fire.
“The true test of any team spirit is when you are 10 points down away from home at some stage. We hope that never happens. But that’s when you know what your team is made of.
“There seems a very natural camaraderie with our team right now. We hope that continues. But it does augur well. Our spirit in 2023 was vital in winning the Championship, it’s the same atmosphere.”
Brown was also keen to pay tribute to how the new signings Kyle Howarth, Dan Thompson, Ashton Boughen, Freddy Hodder and Max Perry have settled in so quickly.
He added: “The biggest compliment I can give them all is that it feels like they’ve been at the club for some time.
“I feel that Chris (Harris) and Kyle are going to be great leaders for the team. Leon (Flint) is also very vocal. We need leaders throughout the side and I think we’ve got it.”
