TOM BRENNAN thanked Glasgow for their support as he left the Cab Direct Championship title winners.

The Great Britain youngster revealed that he would not be in the Allied Vehicles Tigers side for 2024.

Brennan, 22, produced two excellent performances in the Grand Final against Poole but will not be in the title defence team.

He said: “I’d just like to say a massive thank you to Glasgow Tigers Speedway and fans for supporting me for the past 2.5 years throughout my time with the club, in what has been a very difficult time at points both on and off the track.

“This morning I had a message from the management to say that I would not be included in their team next season.

“I have great memories with the club, obviously the stand-out being winning the Championship last week with a great group of lads as team-mates.

“Thank you to everyone involved again and good luck for the future.”

Tigers co-owner Peter Facenna paid tribute to Brennan for helping make history at the club.

He also made it clear that the Championship would have a new-look in team building for the winter.

Facenna said: “Tom has been a pleasure to deal with over the past two-and-a-half years. It’s been great to work with him and his team.

“He has made history at the club and the fans and management will never forget that.

“Tom had initially intimated that he was unsure on continuing in the Championship.

“I’m sure he will go on to bigger and better things and hopefully one day he will be back in the red and white stripes.

“There’s little doubt that team building is far more challenging this winter. We wanted the standard in the Championship to remain the same but that won’t be the case.

“It will be almost impossible to have three heat leaders in a properly balanced team. Nonetheless we are in the process of building a side ready to defend the Championship title.”
