POOLE star Tobias Thomsen says a new mechanic will be a “game-changer” for even classier displays In 2025.

The Danish showman was a trump card as the Wessex Marine Pirates romped to the Cab Direct Championship treble last season.

But Thomsen now believes he’s in even better shape for next season at Wimborne Road after acquiring a new spanner man.

He said: “I had a good guy at home this season, but he got sick towards the end of the season and then he couldn’t do it away.

“Once that happened, I was struggling a bit as I was doing all the bike washing myself and all that, but for next year, I’ve got a guy who’ll do everything and he’s paid for by a sponsor, and I really can’t say thank you enough for that.

“I know that is going to up my game as I can focus on racing the bikes and not worrying about doing the bikes and having to fly in early. I was having to cut down on some of my sleep just to do the bikes.

“Now I have this guy who is very professional and going to do my bikes. I think that’s the game changer for me, to have a guy like that coming in.”
