NEW Oxford signing Erik Riss declared he is in “full health” and ready for a new challenge.
The stylish German became the latest addition to the Cheetahs for the Cab Direct Championship in 2026.
He completes a powerhouse heat leader trio which already includes Sam Masters and Anders Rowe.
Riss, 30, is already a familiar figure at Cowley as he enjoyed some strong performances for the club’s top-flight side over the past two seasons.
He insists the illness issues which ruled him out of the second half of this year’s campaign are behind him.
Riss said: “I am sure there are concerns, but I can assure you that I am back to full health.
“I now have a definite diagnosis and treatment for the problem, and I also know how to avoid it in the future.
“I am really happy to be back at Sandy Lane, it is a track I really enjoy riding on, and I think I do fairly well on it!”
Team boss Peter Schroeck is really pleased to see Riss return to Cowley.
He added: “He is a talented rider, and we are privileged to have him back at Oxford
“I have known him for many years, and he is great to deal with, and it is always nice to have a fellow countryman in the pits!
“He was gutted to have his season cut short by illness last year, so it is great for him to return fully fit.”
