TOM BRENNAN has suffered a major winter blow with a broken leg sustained in America.

Just over a fortnight after helping Ipswich win the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership title earlier this month, the GB star crashed out in practice at Industry, California for the World Speedway Invitational.

Brennan, 24, initially lifted and fell on the small circuit and then crashed again sustaining the injury.

He was rushed to hospital and underwent emergency surgery to stabilise the breaks.

A statement from Tom Brennan Racing said: “Tom has successfully undergone surgery for a broken left tibia and fibula, and everything went as planned.

“All focus will now be on recovery over the winter period and preparing for 2026.

“Thank you to everyone at the track for all their help and support, and also to the incredible medical team who have been very accommodating.

“We are now waiting ON  confirmation on when he can fly home, and will keep you updated of his progress.”

Brennan also suffered a triple leg break in May 2019 at Eastbourne, also to his tibia and fibula.
