CHRIS HARRIS says there is “always more to a story” after revealing he’s NOT returning to Oxford Spires.

The three-times British Champion admitted that he’s set for a new club in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership for 2025.

Harris, 41, thanked the Cowley fans for their support but curiously added a cryptic element to his statement.

He said: “A special thank you to all the Oxford fans for the support as I captained the 2024 Spires team.

“I can confirm that I am not in Oxford's plans for 2025, but thank everyone involved in the club for 2024.

"A special thanks to everyone who overwhelmingly queued for selfies and autographs with my son Cruz and cheered him on when he took to the track with the other mascots before the main meetings.

“I have raced every season in full for British Speedway for the last 26 years and pride myself in giving my absolute all to every club I ride for on and off track, with professionalism.

“Speedway is a funny old sport at times, I urge fans of any rider or any club to not look through rose tinted glasses especially this time of year, there is always more to a story, I can confirm my story is going to be a good one one day, but only when I hang up my boots - which won’t be any time soon.”
