REDCAR BEARS can secure the final BSN Series semi-final qualifying spot with victory at home over Birmingham Brummies later today.

The Bears remain undefeated at home this year, so Gavin Parr's side will start this evenings fixture at the Ecco Arena as red-hot favourites to snatch victory over the Brummies and progress to the semi-final stages of the competition.

Poole Pirates, Glasgow Tigers and Scunthorpe Scorpions have already secured BSN Series semi-final places and will be eagerly awaiting the result of tonights clash in Teesside, so a draw can take place to determine their opposition in the next stage.

The semi-final draw will take place live on BSN, with a live stream planned for 7pm tomorrow evening (Sunday 7th May) should Redcar defeat Birmingham tonight. Confirmation will be made following the conclusion of the potentially decisive clash.

Should the Bears fail to come away with a point against the Brummies, the door would open to both Oxford Cheetahs and Plymouth Gladiators who could then qualify as 'best runners-up' from the BSN Series Southern Group. Both teams would have to win their clash at Oxford Stadium on Wednesday 17th May, as well as taking the aggregate bonus point.

The first BSN Series fixture between Plymouth and Oxford finished 42-48 in favour of the Cheetahs at the Plymouth Coliseum on Tuesday 18th April.
