BERWICK boss Stewart Dickson has told his team to “dig deep” against Oxford.

The Jewson Bandits face the Cheetahs with six riders having reluctantly elected to use rider replacement for injured skipper Rory Schlein while Lasse Fredriksen guests at reserve for Bastian Borke.

Oxford are third in the table, and with a four-point cushion on the sides outside the play-offs, but they still await their first away win after a Super Heat loss at Redcar and two-point defeats at both Edinburgh and Workington.

The Cheetahs again bring in Chargers youngster Jody Scott to guest at reserve with Adam Roynon ruled out due to injury.

Berwick boss Stewart Dickson said: “I have been working the phones and emailing every suitable option but drawn a blank.

“Our best option is to use rider-replacement and it is up to the boys to step up and cover for their skipper.

“Oxford are a good side, but we showed against Edinburgh that we can dig deep and find ways of winning.”

Cheetahs boss Peter Schroeck said: “I think we have a strong one to six so there is no pressure on Jody. We normally do quite well at Berwick, so I am quietly confident.”

BERWICK: Lewis Kerr, Danyon Hume, Jye Etheridge, Drew Kemp, Rory Schlein r/r, Freddy Hodder, Lasse Fredriksen.

OXFORD: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Ashton Boughen, Jordan Jenkins, Scott Nicholls, Luke Killeen, Jody Scott.
