CONNOR BAILEY admits he wants more Sports Insure Premiership action after an excellent debut campaign for Belle Vue.

The ATPI Aces swooped to sign the British Under-21 champ in early July after Rising Star Jake Mulford was ruled out for the season.

Bailey, 21, turned out to be an astute acquisition with several stand-out performances of paid nine and eight during the campaign.

He said: “It was a great experience for me to get the chance in the Premiership.

“I was pretty happy to get some decent results. Obviously you always want to do better but I need more laps around some of the away tracks.

“The Premiership is a good place to be. I want to race against better opposition all the time, that’s the only way to learn really.”

It’s been a breakthrough campaign for Bailey with that British Under-21 win at Glasgow, the National Development League Riders’s champ last Sunday and a remarkable appearance for Wroclaw in the PGE Ekstraliga Grand Final.

But he’s keeping his feet on the ground despite such a huge year. He said: “I think if you asked any of us at this stage, we’d all say we want to go to the top because I think that’s the goal for everyone.

“But I guess a more realistic, short-term goal is to just get on a few more teams and have a lot more experience in different leagues and different tracks and countries and ultimately just get my name out there.

“I think this sport’s a lot more about who you know than what you know, so I think I need to maximise that aspect and just get myself exposed and try and pick up some teams and keep going.”
