LEWIS KERR admits he would love to win the British Championship.

The Oxford and Berwick star has got his heart set on winning the national title.

Kerr, 33, announced the backing of Minors & Brady estate agents with the continued top backing from AJN Steelstock. That investment, he believes, gives him the chance to go up a level.

He said: “I don’t think I’ve ever been better prepared and had the backing I currently have.

"To have Minors & Brady, AJN plus Gary Hinchcliffe, Fred and Norman Wenn is so important to me.

“It’s just up to me now to find better consistency. I have done that in the past but my levels need to improve to where I know I can get to.

“I don’t think I’ve made a secret of the fact that I want to get a big title like the British Championship. There’s times when I feel like I’ve got close to making the semi-final or final but come up short.

“Hopefully this year I can finally get over the line and make a bigger impact.

“I would love to do that for my sponsors like AJN Steelstock and Minors & Brady. They have backed me and have faith in me to win titles.

“It would be awesome to win a trophy and bring it back to Oxford and Berwick for the fans.”

Kerr is excited to be part of a new era for Oxford in the Premiership and Berwick in the Cab Direct Championship.

He said: “I can’t wait for the new season, it’s going to be massive for both clubs.

“I’m delighted to be back at Oxford. There’s so much ambition and they’ve come so far in such a short amount of time.

“Stewart Dickson wants to win trophies at Berwick. It might take some time but we’ll give it our best shot.

“I think he went to Leicester in 2019 and they’d never won a title like Berwick. He won the Championship with them in his first year there. It’s a big ask but we’d love history to repeat itself.”
