CHRIS Harris is hell-bent on knocking his old team Leicester out of the title race.

Bomber led the Lions into the top four earlier this summer but was sacked and returned to his former club Peterborough where he has sparked an amazing revival.

Leicester need only one point to edge out Ipswich of the fourth and final play-off spot and go to the East of England Arena holding a 24-point advantage in the battle for the bonus point.

But they will now face a rejuvenated Panthers side tonight, live on BSN, boosted by the twin signings of Harris and 2021 World Champion Artem Laguta, looking for their fourth win in a row.

And the three times British number one and former Grand Prix star admits: “I’ll feel no sympathy if they miss out, that’s the name of the game. I’m not concerned what they or any other teams are doing now, I’m only interested in Peterborough.

“I want to send them home with zero points, we want to win and I want the Panthers to get as many points as possible, every point counts and we want the win and the bonus point to make sure we don’t end up with the wooden spoon.

“That’s what I am going to say to the boys when we are on ourtrack walk and in the changing room before the meeting.”

Belle Vue, Wolverhampton and Sheffield have already booked their spots in the last four and Leicester will be hoping to fill the final place but will have to do it without skipper Richie Worrall.

Worrall began the season with Peterborough but struggled to come to terms with his new home track and joined the Lions at the beginning of last month.

He was one of two riders excluded from Tuesday night’s Championship match between his club Plymouth and opponents Berwick after they produced a ‘non-negative’ result from a pre-meeting alcohol and drugs test.

His Speedway Control Bureau registration was immediately suspended pending the results being analysed and confirmed by the laboratory.
