CONNOR Bailey believes Redcar are ready to bounce back from their opening defeat at Scunthorpe.

The Bears look to get off the mark in the Northern section of the BSN Series when they face Workington at the ECCO Arena tonight (Friday), live on BSN.

The Bears were beaten at Scunthorpe last week and will be racing at home for the first time in 2024, whilst the Comets have been inactive since their Border Trophy defeat to Berwick.

British Under-21 Champion Bailey is optimistic about the Bears’ chances this year and believes not too much should be written into that result at the Eddie Wright Raceway,

He said: “I have no concerns with my own performance, I’ve only had the one meeting with Redcar so I’m just bedding in and at Scunthorpe, the track was tricky so the focus is now about getting dialled in at home.

“Charles (Wright) was superb but I was really impressed with Ben (Trigger) and Jason (Edwards) who rode really well and attacked the track, especially Ben as it was his first meeting as a Redcar rider which is a really good sign.”

REDCAR: Danny King, Jason Edwards, Connor Bailey, Jonas Knudsen, Charles Wright, Jake Mulford, Ben Trigger.

WORKINGTON: Craig Cook, Tate Zischke, Antti Vuolas, Claus Vissing, Troy Batchelor, Sam McGurk, Celina Liebmann.
