BELLE VUE boss Mark Lemon admits he couldn’t be “prouder” of his side after an opening away win of the campaign.

The ATPI Aces stormed to a vital victory at King’s Lynn and now face the Stars at the National Speedway Stadium on Monday night.

It’s now three wins in succession for Belle Vue as they continue a strong start to the season.

Lemon said: “I couldn’t have been prouder of how the team performed at the Adrian Flux Arena on Thursday. It was a truly exciting match and they rode superbly.

“Things were close. One minute we’re leading, the next they’re leading and it came down to crunch time before we managed to beat off their challenge.

“There were times when luck went against us, for example Jaimon Lidsey suffering a chain malfunction with the chain itself twisting a link and I’ve never seen that before in all my time.

“You feel that things could have been much more comfortable without that but that’s racing.”

King’s Lynn pose a stronger threat this season with a cluster of Danes who can all deliver at the National Speedway Stadium.

But the ATPI Aces have their own star man in Norick Blodorn who has made a storming start to the year.

The German scored paid 10 and then had fans roaring with laughter in his one-man stand-up show in the press conference last Monday.

After three wins against Sheffield a week earlier, his powerhouse shows could be a key element.

But Blodorn, 19, doesn’t know why he has hit a winning streak!

He said: “I wish I knew. I’m just enjoying it. It is always tough because everyone is fast around the National Speedway Stadium.

“I still think we’ve got a pretty good home advantage because we are dialled in racing week-in, week-out here. We know the lines.”
