LEICESTER boss Stewart Dickson says his side will come out “all guns blazing” against Sheffield.

The inspirational Lions boss is demanding a response tonight (Thursday) after the Lions suffered disappointing back-to-back defeats.Leicester last home appearance was a disappointing Knockout Cup first leg defeat by Ipswich and on Monday they lost 51-33 in difficult conditions at Belle Vue.

Now Dickson wants to see his Lions kick-start a season which began promisingly with a 47-42 home victory over King’s Lynn.

He said: “We know Sheffield will see us as being a bit wounded and will be coming to get something from Thursday.

“But our guys will be pumped, we will be ready for it.

“I expect a response from my riders, they’ll get a response from me in my team-talk and I expect us to be all guns blazing.”

Lions are unchanged for what is the first in a run of four successive Thursdays at home.

By contrast it is Sheffield’s fourth away meeting of the season and they have yet to race at their Owlerton home due to a string of rain-offs.

Their previous ROWE Motor Oil Premiership fixture saw them fight from ten points down to grab a draw at Birmingham before snatching the extra point following a Super Heat.

Tigers’ boss Simon Stead is expecting a tasty clash between two sides strongly tipped pre-season to be play-off contenders.

He said: “I’m a little bit surprised with how both of our seasons have got started if I’m being honest but I know Stewart will have his riders fired up.

“For us it will be good to get back together because it’s been such a stop-start beginning to the season and the fact we haven’t been able to get a home meeting on yet is disappointing.

“But there are league points on the line at Leicester and hopefully we can dig deep and come away with a result that goes in our favour.”
