LEWIS KERR admits he is “devastated” after breaking his right ankle.

The Oxford and Berwick star will now face at least a month on the sidelines after picking up the injury at Cowley on Thursday night.

Kerr, 34, crashed out in Heat 11 of the Spires’ ROWE Motor Oil Premiership clash with Ipswich.

He had made a cracking start to the season with both clubs. He had just scored paid 14 in Berwick’s home win over Glasgow and was unbeaten for Oxford until his crash against the Witches.

Kerr said: “What started out as a great night racing turned into a broken ankle!

“Just back from hospital with it in a cast, moving onto a boot soon.

“Positive news is that it’s not my weight bearing bone so should be speedy recovery.

“I’m still devastated to miss any meetings. I had started the season so well. All I can do is get fit as soon as possible.”
